Terms of Service

Published by Keen2Host. Last updated 14 August 2026.

Who these terms are between

These terms are between you and Keen2Host, a sole trader established in the United Kingdom, trading from 26 Down View Way, Clanfield. Hampshire. PO8 0FQ. They cover this website, the Pet Central plugin, the Pet Central Pro add-on, any plan you buy from us, and the support that comes with it.

By installing Pet Central or buying a plan you accept these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you may bind that business.

The plugin is free software

Pet Central is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. That licence, not this document, governs what you may do with the code: you may use it on as many sites as you like, study it, modify it, and pass it on under the same licence.

Nothing in these terms takes away a right the GPL gives you. Where the two ever conflict, the GPL wins.

What a plan actually buys

The paid features ship as a separate add-on plugin, Pet Central Pro, which installs itself alongside Pet Central when you take out a plan. Pet Central Pro is also GPL software. Having it on disk switches nothing on by itself: what you can use is the lower of what is installed and what your plan covers.

Scope of a licence key

  • A plan covers one site. Using a key on more sites than it covers is a breach of these terms, though it is not a breach of the GPL.
  • Plans are named on the pricing page along with the features each one includes. Feature lists can change as the product develops; we will not remove a feature from a plan you are already paying for without telling you first.
  • You may move a licence between sites — for example when you rebuild your website — by disconnecting the old site and connecting the new one.

Payment, renewal and price changes

  • Prices are shown on the pricing page and include VAT where it applies. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
  • Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. We will email you a reminder at least 7 days before a renewal is taken.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account or by emailing support@petcentral.software. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for.
  • If we change the price of a plan, the new price applies from your next renewal and we will tell you at least 30 days beforehand. You are free to cancel rather than accept it.
  • If a payment fails we will retry and email you. If it still fails, the plan lapses — see below.

Refunds and your right to cancel

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, the Consumer Contracts Regulations normally give you 14 days to change your mind about digital content. Because a licence key works the moment it is issued, by buying a plan and using the key you ask us to supply immediately and acknowledge that you lose that statutory cancellation right once we have done so.

Renewal payments are not routinely refunded, because the reminder above gives you notice. If a renewal genuinely caught you out, ask — we would rather sort it out than argue about it.

None of this affects your legal rights if the software is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality.

If a plan ends

  • Your data stays exactly where it is. It is in your own WordPress database and we never had a copy. Nothing is deleted, hidden or held hostage.
  • The paid features padlock. Records those features created remain readable and exportable.
  • The free version of Pet Central keeps working, indefinitely, at no cost.
  • Take out a plan again and everything switches back on where you left it.

Support

Support is by email at support@petcentral.software and through the support screen inside the plugin. We aim to reply to plan holders within one working day, Monday to Friday, UK business hours. Users of the free version are welcome to write in and we answer when we can.

Support covers Pet Central doing what it is documented to do. It does not extend to writing custom code for you, fixing conflicts caused by other plugins or themes, general WordPress administration, server or hosting problems, or recovering a site with no backup — though we will usually tell you what we think has gone wrong.

Your responsibilities

Pet Central is business software that handles other people’s contact details. When you run it:

  • You are the data controller for your clients’ and their pets’ information. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to hold it, for your own privacy notice, and for answering your clients’ data requests. Our Privacy Policy explains the split.
  • Keep backups. Take one before every update. We cannot restore your site.
  • Keep WordPress, PHP and your other plugins reasonably current — Pet Central states the versions it needs.
  • Where you connect a third-party service such as Stripe, Twilio, WhatsApp or an accounting package, you are contracting with that provider under their terms, and you are responsible for the credentials you enter.
  • Keep your licence key to yourself.

Acceptable use

You may not use our website, the licensing service or support to break the law, to send unsolicited marketing in breach of PECR or the GDPR, to attack or overload our systems, to misrepresent yourself as us, or to resell licence keys as your own product. We may suspend a licence that is being used this way, and will tell you why.

Availability, and what we do not promise

We work hard to keep the licensing service and this website up, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability and there is no service-level agreement. If our licensing service is unreachable, Pet Central keeps running on your site — the licence check is designed to fail softly rather than lock you out.

The software is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, and without affecting the statutory rights of a consumer, we exclude implied warranties that the software will be error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Pet Central is a booking and invoicing tool, not veterinary, accounting, tax or legal advice, and figures it produces are yours to check.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including a consumer’s statutory rights.

Subject to that, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost data or wasted expenditure, and our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. If you have paid us nothing, because you use the free version, our liability is limited to £100.

Ending the agreement

You may stop using Pet Central at any time; deactivate and delete it from WordPress in the usual way. We may end a plan if you materially breach these terms and do not put it right within 14 days of us asking, or immediately for the conduct described under Acceptable use. If we end a plan for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of it.

Changes to these terms

We update these terms as the product changes, and the date at the top shows when. For material changes affecting a plan you hold, we will email you at least 30 days beforehand; if you do not accept them, cancel before they take effect and we will refund the unused part of your current period.

Law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and may bring proceedings there.

General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours if the business is sold, and your rights are not affected.
